A musical following a young dockworker who leaves England for America to search for his father during the turbulent '60s. Using the lyrics of The Beatles (most characters are all named for their songs; Lucy, Jude, Prudence, etc) it moves from '50s nostalgia to the all out chaos and dissent of the Vietnam War era. Essentially a love story it captures the times of change and freedom in New York during the '60s. It's ambitious and sometimes misses the mark (some numbers are a little out of place), but also daring, colourful and energetic. Look out for an almost-unrecognisable Bono as the flaky guru, Dr. Robert. (AB)
