Animation fantasy — Be prepared to be blown away by the sheer scale of imagination and incredible detail achieved in this remarkable, stop–motion–animation feature.

Based on Neil Gaiman's 2002 novel of the same name and directed by Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas), this gem is a journey into things you shouldn't wish for.

Coraline is a young girl who feels ignored. Upon finding a mysterious door, she ventures into an alternative reality of her own, where her parents are exactly what she wished for and life seems endlessly exciting. All is not cakes and carnivals for Coraline, though, and the black buttons that have replaced the eyes of these otherworldly imitations of her own hint at darker intentions. A wonderful fantasy world with interesting thematic elements. AB)
