A group of aliens visits Earth and one is left behind — stranded. The alien is found by a 10–year–old boy, Elliot. Soon the two begin to communicate and start a friendship in which E.T. learns about life on Earth and Elliot learns the true meaning of friendship. E.T. wants to go home and, despite the prospect of losing a friend, Elliot does all he can to help him. Also stars a very young Drew Barrymore.
A thoroughly–enjoyable experience. Great special effects. 20th Anniversary special edition — extra footage.
