A very realistic and violent film about drugs and power. Pacino is sadistic and menacing as Scarface, dominating each scene with his presence. It's hard to imagine any other actor in this role. Scarface still holds up as one of the best-ever tough-guy stories. A very-far-removed remake of the 1932 Howard Hawks's movie of the same name. (AJP)
